Which social media is right for your business (Introduction)

Social media is essential for business, especially for marketing. However having the right mix of platforms can be as important as the content you upload. There are many social media platforms to choose from, many of which use different methods of sharing information and ideas.

In an article by Oracle on 'Managing the social media mix' they ask business to rank the resources they upload for customers to view on social media sites. The two 'funnels' they ask you to use are frequency and formality. Frequency is the amount of times you upload information to a social media site, and formality is the level of resources you use.







Eg; Twitter is commonly the most frequent, with short posts. And Blogger can be the most formal with lengthy portfolios of data.

From this business can ensure that they are using the right 'mix' of social media sites. Getting the right mix of sites can ensure that they capture the largest audience, as some users may only use certain social media programmes.
